BR British Railways Steam Locomotive Class 2P McIntosh 0-4-4T 55222 at Stirling in 1950s
Some on-site earthworks appear to have been taking place at Stirling shed when Mcintosh 0-4-4T No 55222 was photographed there in the early 1950s. Later this locomotive became a regular performer on the 5 mile Killin branch between Killin Junction (on the Callender and Oban line) and the Loch Tay terminus. That branch closed in November 1964, but by then No 55222 had already perished, in September 1961. It had been built for the Caledonian Railway in 1914.
